Colorado Springs Fiction Writer's Group
I joined the Colorado Springs Fiction Writer's Group (CSFWG) in November of 2006, and became the Vice President of the Saturday group in June of 2008. In January of 2009, Hank Snider, one of our founders and long-time President stepped down from his role as President. To keep the organization running smoothly, I volunteered to attempt to fill his sizable shoes. I ascended (does that sound pompous or what?) to the presidency of the CSFWG on January 1, 2009.
The Colorado Springs Fiction Writer's Group meets once each month to critique submissions handed in from the previous month. I've been in some groups in the past that met on a weekly basis. Meeting more often than every 2 weeks does not allow for proper time to examine a submission, and this always leads to poorly done, ineffective critiques. I prefer meeting every month rather than every 2 weeks because I can read a submission through once, walk away from it for a day or three to allow for percolation, return to the submission and give it a good run through for critiquing. I can do this with each of the submissions, and give everyone the attention they deserve.
I would post dates, times, locations, and other pertinent information here, but I'm afraid that if it ever changes in the future (which no changes are planned) I will forget to update this page. I would hate for someone to trust the information on my personal site when the official site may be more accurate.
If you are interested in hearing more about the group, you can contact me, visit the CSFWG web site, or join our Yahoo! CSFWG Group.
